Izuku Midoriya Uses His Second Quirk In The Latest Chapter [SPOILER ALERT]

My Hero Academia was introduced initially as the story of Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless teenager, becoming the greatest hero of all time. From the latest chapter of the series, it looks like Izuku can finally stand up to villains because he just got a much-needed power upgrade.

The latest chapter of the series, titled “One Week”, showcases a grim situation, where it is up to Izuku to save the day and he does so by using his second quirk, Blackwhip.

A villain named Ending has Endeavor’s son, Natsu, as a hostage and promises to kill the boy. While Endeavor is dealing with the villain, their battle wreaks havoc towards innocent bystanders.

It is up to Izuku and his friends to ensure their safety. This is where the results of Izuku’s training under the top hero show their effect as he is finally able to control his newly manifested quirk.

Izuku recently manifested a second quirk, Blackwhip, sourced from the power of one of the previous holders of One For All. This quirk allows him to grab onto things in a spiderman like fashion, but with a shadow. Endeavor trained Izuku to practice using his quirk till it feels like second nature to him, the same way a sword must feel like the extension of a swordsman’s arm.

During the havoc, the results of this training came to fruition, as after a moment of self-reflection, Izuku manages to use this quirk to hold onto cars midair to save civilians. By accomplishing this feat, Izuku has received a power upgrade as he inches towards his ultimate goal: To be the greatest hero that ever lived.

About My Hero Academia:

In a world where people with superpowers are the norm, Izuku Midoriya has dreams of one day becoming a Hero, despite being bullied by his classmates for not having a Quirk. After being the only one to try and save his childhood bully Katsuki Bakugo from a villain, All Might, Japan’s greatest Hero, saves him and bestows upon him All Might’s own Quirk “One for All”. The story follows Izuku’s entrance into U.A. High School, a school for training the next generation of superheroes. Izuku and his new friends try to balance their Hero training with ordinary school duties. However, the League of Villains, an evil organization established by All Might’s archenemy All For One, has plans to destroy all Heroes and take control of society.
