If there were words to describe ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ they would most certainly be – “Watch it at your own discretion.”
The sitcom has unique situations often stemming more directly from its character’s beliefs/misunderstandings as they continually spin out of control yet rarely redeem themselves.
The American sitcom series ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ has been on air since 2005. Season fourteen of the series concluded in November last year, filled with romance and chaos.
Was season 14 the last season?
Fans were worried about the series being sidelined by McElhenney’s other project, Apple TV’s Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet (which has been renewed for a second season). However, there is a monumental difference between a show’s second season and the fifteenth season.
When asked about the same, McElhenney assured fans that it is not the case. In addition to this, upon being asked how much longer the show could last, he replied,
“How many years do I have on this planet? I’ll do it forever.”
Season 15 News & Updates
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia was renewed for season 15 in May 2020. With season 15 on its way, the show is slated to officially surpass ABC’s The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as the longest-running live-action sitcom on American television.
Season 15 will involve at least one episode about the coronavirus/COVID-19, according to a recent interview of McElhenney by IGN.
Due to the prevailing conditions, fans will have to wait longer for season 15. While we don’t yet know when production will begin (due to this pesky pandemic), it’s comforting to know that dark comedy still has a place in this world.
Season 15 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will likely release in the late 2021 season, provided the production begins by the Fall of 2020.
