Is Black Clover Anime Completed?

Since February, fans are distressed as Black Clover announced a goodbye. The heartbreak is real, guys; the situation reminds me of Katty Perry’s meme, “They ask you how you are, and you just have to say that you’re fine, but you’re not really fine.”

Nothing can beat the pain you feel when your favorite anime ends. All of us are in a denial stage. The denial has led to many rumors, and it is expected as the announcement came as a sudden shock. But seriously, is it ending, or do we still have hope?

According to the official announcement, Black Clover’s 4th season, which is supposedly the last season, will be ending soon. However, the producers have a big announcement to declare when the last episode airs. Leaks suggest that this announcement will be a happy one for the fandom.

1. A Final Goodbye?

Remember the good old times of waiting every week for the new episode, Asta using his entire lung force to scream, and Yami’s poop stories? We won’t be seeing it anymore.

In February 2021, the production announced that on March 30 the final episode 170 of Black Clover would air. Am I trying to rub salt in your wounds? Yes, I am. We hardly have any days to cry.

But the manga is not ending anytime soon. In a way, this guarantees that Black Clover will return someday. We have yet to discover a lot of plot and subplot. To begin with, they declared the end because the anime was catching up with the manga.

The production did try to fill the gap with fillers that were anime canon, some liked it, but the majority did not. Nonetheless, that was only possible because the main arc didn’t start yet. Still, it is not feasible to make unnecessary fillers in the current scenario as it may deteriorate the anime’s quality and Yuki Tabata didn’t want his audience to watch anymore fillers that might disrupt his storyline.

Also, it doesn’t really make any sense to stop the anime in the middle of a major arc. Considering its popularity,  it is inevitable that there will be a continuation, but the question is in what form, a movie, sequel, OVA, or a seasonal anime?

2. Will the Anime Come Back?

With how everything looks, I put my bets on a movie; even some leaks suggest that there will be a movie that will cover the current arc. The big announcement will be covering this topic, Rejoice!

The idea is perfect! I mean, if you have read the manga, you can relate that adapting it into a movie will be a fantastic choice. There are high chances that the movie might come out in 2022 or maybe towards its end. The Spade invasion arc is not over, and I’m sure it will take at least another 20 chapters or so.

Even after the current arc’s exploration, there are so many things in the plot that are not revealed. For instance, Asta’s original identity and his parents and especially the question that drives most of the characters motives ‘Who will be the Wizard King’

Black Clover was supposed to be one of those anime that continuously gets updated weekly like One Piece and Detective Conan, but the production stopped because it caught up with the manga.

So, we can assume that after this movie, it will be back with new seasons. It might take a while; it may go on a hiatus for years, but no official statement can confirm this. All we can do is hope that this might be the case.

3. About Black Clover

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015.

The story centers around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in; and his foster brother Yuno who received the rare four-leaf grimoire and has more magic power than most people! With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.
