Episode 7 Recap
Before being invited to dinner, Naoto is seen working very intently to put something together at the episode’s opening. Nagatoro offers to insert the contacts for Naoto after noticing a box of contacts next to him. She straddles him while attempting to get the lens in, making Naoto uneasy.
Nagatoro succeeds in the end, but he teases Naoto because he knows he can no longer touch his spectacles when he becomes anxious. Naoto and his buddies observe Nagatoro and her friends’ prowess at skiing when they are on a ski trip.
Naoto’s classmates are shocked to learn that he is acquainted with such a well-liked first-year girl when Nagatoro extends an invitation to go skiing. Nagatoro tries to teach Naoto the fundamentals after he immediately smashes into a snowbank, but Naoto still has trouble.
Naoto declines Nagatoro’s invitation to join him for a night lesson, claiming that his legs hurt while, in reality, he doesn’t want to prevent Nagatoro from learning to ski at her own pace. Naoto returns to the beginning slope that evening to put what Nagatoro had taught him into practice.
Another teenage skier passes by while shouting that he must stop as he daydreams. Naoto skis forward and grasps his coat just before the kid runs into a tree. Two skiers suddenly materialize out of nowhere and start skiing directly for Naoto. As he tries to move out of the way, Nagatoro unexpectedly intervenes to save him and reprimands the other skiers.
Nagatoro is invited to go night skiing with Naoto. Naoto congratulates Sunomiya on getting into art school as she returns to the classroom. She is astonished to learn that Naoto wants to attend the same art school and wonders if Nagatoro’s influence over him is to blame.
Naoto reflects on the past year, understanding Nagatoro has influenced him in the past and that he is unaware of her aspirations for the future.
