Hugh Jackman to play Wolverine again?

After playing Wolverine for 17 years across nine movies, Hugh Jackman owned the character ending his run with the R-Rated Logan, which is unarguably the best comic-book movie(After The Dark Knight obviously). Despite retiring Wolverine and hanging up his claws for good, there are constantly rumours of the return of the Australian actor. Can he be persuaded to play Wolverine again now that Disney owns Fox Studios?

The mutants are the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and are going to become an integral part in three or four years. The new actor playing Wolverine will undoubtedly be under the most pressure to live up to Jackman’s legacy. However, there are rumours that the gates are still open for Hugh Jackman to reprise Wolverine once the X-Men join the MCU.

A few days ago, there were reports that Disney and Marvel are developing the Iconic Hulk vs. Wolverine storyline to introduce Wolverine. Evidently, the studios are hoping that Hugh Jackman returns for the role.

According to TVO from the Lords of the Long Box YouTube channel: “It’s Hugh Jackman’s part to turn down. They are leaving the door open for him.” While there is no official confirmation about any of these rumours, a few years ago, Jackman himself admitted that he would like to work along The Avengers and he would put the Adamantium claws on again if offered.

He said. “The Avengers would prove too much to turn down. Because I always love the idea of Wolverine within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man… At the moment, honestly, if I did have them there, I probably wouldn’t have said that this is the last.”

I think that Marvel Studios should take a reality check on Hugh Jackman playing the Wolverine again. At 50, Hugh may or may not want to go through the extreme training for the role even Tom Cruise regularly proves it can be done. Everyone from Taron Egerton to Daniel Radcliffe has been linked to Wolverine recently and there are plenty of X-Men characters that Marvel can use instead of focusing on the one that’s virtually impossible to recast unless they listen to the fans!
