How to get Monstrous Tooth from the Kuharibu Sea Monster? Skull & Bones Guide

Being a pirate in Skull & Bones is a risky business in itself, but obtaining some of the materials in the game can get pretty darn dangerous too. The Monstrous Tooth in particular is one that’s tricky to get a hold of, as players need to fight sea monsters to get it.

It can be used as a currency to purchase blueprints for ship weapons, armor, etc. from the Huntmaster NPC in Lanitra or as a crafting material. A lot of important equipment in the game does require Monstrous Tooth, so I’d say risking your life for it is justified.

From the Deep — Skull & Bones

Players can obtain Monstrous Tooth by hunting down the Sea Monster Kuharibu. This creature is a part of the quest “From the Deep,” which players can get from the Sea People Huntmaster NPC in the outpost of Lanitra.

After beginning this quest, head northwest to the Western Basin. The Kuharibu is located just north of Ile Michel but be aware of your surroundings as it’s usually underwater and can take you by surprise.

Sea Monsters also have a very slim chance of spawning at Strange Sighting Events, but since it’s not guaranteed you’ll face one, we suggest you stick to Kuharibu simply because it’s a consistent and guaranteed method to get Monstrous Tooth.

Kuharibu Sea Monster — Skull & Bones

Kuharibu has two attacks: a side hit and a ramming attack from a distance. The best way to kill it is by firing at it from a distance. Use repair kits to maintain the ship’s integrity and use the brace skill to lower the damage dealt from the beast’s attack as much as possible.

If things get dire, use the game’s Call For Help feature to see if there’s any nearby player free to help you out. Here are some additional tips to combat the creature effectively:

  1. Use the brace skill every time you see Kuharibu nearing your ship, as the ramming attack can send your ship into critical condition in one hit.
  2. Before hunting it down, stock up on a lot of provisions for repairing the ship and also restoring its stamina.
  3. Kuharibu may get distracted by AI-controlled vessels patrolling the surrounding area, so when that happens, take your shot.
  4. Between its attacks, Kuharibu will expose itself on the surface of the water. When it does, unload everything you have.

3. What are the rewards for killing the Kuharibu Sea Monster in Skull & Bones?

Killing Kuharibu will award players with sweet goodies along with Monstrous Tooth, such as:

  • Kuharibu’s Eye
  • Mysterious Chest containing loot and materials (costs 50x Monstrous Tooth)
  • Beast Hunter’s Outfit Set (costs 10-20 Monstrous Tooth)
  • Great Springald III (ballista weapon blueprint) [costs 30x Monstrous Tooth]
  • Ouroboros (ship armor blueprint) [costs 50x Monstrous Tooth]

Deliver Kuharibu’s Eye to the Sea People Huntmaster to wrap up the quest. Even if the thrill of the pirate life doesn’t motivate you to fight the Sea Monster, the rewards definitely will.

4. How to farm Monstrous Tooth in Skull & Bones?

The best way to farm Monstrous Tooth in the game is by completing the “From the Deep” contract every day, as it resets daily. By slaying the beast over and over again, players can easily stock up on Monstrous Tooth.

You can also get the rewards for the contract multiple times in one day by helping other players defeat Kuharibu. Just let the other players take the contract while you do the heavy lifting, and all players in the party will receive the loot for killing the beast.
