Diablo rejected Lumachina’s offer of becoming the Head cardinal because he felt church isn’t the right place for him. Thus, he will continue with his next quest having Shera, Rem, and Rose by his side.
3. Episode 10 Recap
In Episode 10, Diablo fights Vishos and the God of Destruction, Europa. The level 200 monster is protected by a magical shield that nullifies any attack directed towards.
Diablo has faced such a monster before, but it was when he used to play the game from his computer. He knows that the monster can only be summoned by spiritual magic, and the only way to defeat it is by dispelling the protective shield first.
Lumachina is the only one who can direct the holy light and break the evil spell. All the believers send their prayers to the Head Priest, and together, they manage to break the shield.
Once the protective shield is destroyed, the monster is no match for Diablo. He finishes it off with his Annihilating Spears, thereby bringing back peace and order to the land.
Before leaving, he warns the people if they entrust their faith to some wrong person ever again, he will destroy the place. Lumachina even offers Diablo to become the head cardinal, but he turns the offer down.
He feels that the church isn’t a suitable place for a Demon Lord like himself, so he sets off on another quest with unknown dangers to face.

How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is a 2014 light novel series by Yukiya Murasaki. The series paved a way for the 2015 manga and 2018 anime adaptation as well.
