Maria lets out her inner night demon in episode 5 of Hero Classroom, titled “The Demon King’s Daughter.”

One of Blade’s classmates, Maria, reveals that her father was the Demon King. Although her mother was human, she was born with no demonic features but a malicious power within her. Constantly restraining herself to stop it from coming out, Blade asks her to let it go.

As a precaution, he sets up a magic barrier around the school, and Maria brings out the demon within her. It immediately goes on a rampage and defeats all of Blade’s friends, leaving just him.

Now that Mao and Maria coexist in the same body, Blade has two more friends he can train with. Mao possesses incredible strength since she was born with the Satanic Crest and will likely be a strong opponent for Blade.

Blade will have to focus on his health for a while now to avoid overexerting himself. If he goes above 15% power, the nurse warns him that he will die. With the tremendous amount of energy in him, 15% is more than enough to beat most foes.

3. Recap of Episode 5

Blade’s body is progressing well, and the doctor tells him he can use up to 30% of his power now. One of his classmates, Maria, approaches him during lunch and tells him about her blood. She is a night demon and may lose control of her powers in extreme situations.

To let go of the restraint and let her powers lose, Blade sets up a magical barrier and takes her into the courtyard. She takes off all her sealing items, and the demon within her takes over her body and announces the rebirth of the Demon King.

Ernest gives her flesh to Asmodeus and tries to attack but is hammered into the ground. Even Cu’s dragon form stands no chance against her, and Blade is the only one left. He can barely even land a hit against her, and his sword crumbles in one blow.

Ernest hands him the sword of Asmodeus, and Blade channels his magic power into it. With one final blow, he destroys the Demon Lord and passes out. He wakes at the nurse’s office and sees Maria walking in half-demon form.

She calls herself Mao and gathers many friends on her first day around the school. She comes to Blade’s window at night and takes him out to see the beautiful night sky. Mao promises she won’t leave here until she kills him and confesses that she’s attracted to him.

Mao reassures him that Maria is still alive within the deep recesses of her mind and explains the suffering she went through as a child. The next day, Eliza deduces that her pendant is not a sealing device, but a recording device given by Maria’s mother.

They play the recording which shows the Demon King’s message to Emilia, Maria’s mother. He impresses his Satanic crest onto his children and promises never to stop loving them. After hearing the news, Maria returns from the depths of her mind and takes back control of her body.

Hero Classroom also known as Classroom of Heroes is a light novel series written by Shin Araki and illustrated by Haruyuki Morisawa, first published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump between February and August 2015. A manga adaptation by Koara Kishida has been serialized since 2016 via Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan.
