From newbies to theatre-heads, the Broadway show-turned-film about one of America’s revered founding fathers, has something for everyone.
However, Disney is in no mood for charity with this one. Watching Hamilton will not possible for you without a full-fledged subscription with the streaming service.
The film can no longer just be streamed on a free trial considering the particular option has been removed by Disney.

When is Hamilton coming to Disney Plus?
The smash Broadway hit is arriving on Disney Plus around the world (most of the regions) on July 3, a day before the American Independence Day celebrated on 4th of July.

What is Hamilton?
Hamilton debuted on Broadway in 2015. The ground-breaking biographical hip-hop show about the life of America’s first Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton won 11 Tony Awards and was performed across numerous tours.
Disney Plus describes Hamilton as “the story of America then, told by America now,” adding, that the film features diversity in more ways than. For starters, the score blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, while it is performed by a predominant mix of Black, Latino and Asian American artists.
The musical has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education and with its worldwide streaming, thanks to Disney Plus’s international platform, this story of America will soon be for the world to witness.
Is this a movie or play or what?
Unlike other musicals where the production is re-created on a set, Disney Plus’s presentation of Hamilton is a filmed version of the original Broadway production straight from the Richard Rodgers Theatre from back in 2016.
The filmed version is also directed by the show’s director, Tommy Kail. It was originally scheduled for a theatrical release in 2021 but was later fast-tracked for an earlier release on Disney Plus.

Here is the list of all the stars on this lauded Broadway musical. Daveed Diggs plays Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler.
Jonathan Groff will be playing King George, Christopher Jackson will be your George Washington, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds while Lin-Manuel Miranda will be seen as Alexander Hamilton.
Leslie Odom, Jr. will feature as Aaron Burr, Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.
