Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 – Trailer Reveals Release Date

It has been a year since the announcement of Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh – a two-part original film series featuring the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth on his solo adventure. And fans won’t have to wait for too long anymore.

On Saturday, Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming movie “Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1”. The trailer features Tristan, Elizabeth, Deathpierce, and a new character who will be joining Tristan on his journey.

The main theme song will be “LEMONADE” by Hiroyuki Sawano and XAI. Notably, Sawano had previously composed the music for the main series. The film will be released worldwide on Netflix on December 20, 2022.

The part where Deathpierce is shown reminds me of the series finale of Seven Deadly Sins. Deathpierce not only renounces his “Holy Knight” title but also leaves for Edinburgh to restore the kingdom. He desired to build a kingdom only for humans.

The cast for the movie had previously been revealed, with many members reprising their roles from the anime. Here’s a list of the movie’s cast:

Bob Shirahata will be directing the series, with Rintaro Ikeda writing the screenplay for the movie. Noriyuki Abe, who also acted as the chief director for the Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners of the Sky movie, will be the chief director for this film.

The Grudge of Edinburgh may be different in its animation and source material. But the fact that the movie’s story is also written by the mangaka Nakaba Suzuki and seems to serve as a direct sequel would certainly be a must-watch.

Moreover, we cannot ignore that the movies would also bridge some gap with the already announced “Four Knights of the Apocalypse” anime series.
