A lot of credit for the popularity of the anime can be contributed to Netflix, which brought a lot of new eyes. Unfortunately, the series has experienced a weird stint in Netflix’s library, being removed and coming back again and again over the last four years, before being removed permanently for good earlier this year.

After being out in the wild for almost seven months, the franchise has a new home.

Funimation has announced that Knights of Sidonia will be available for streaming on their platform from 3rd August 2021. Both seasons of the anime will be available in all regions except South America.

That is not all, the Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars movie will be released in theaters in the US and Canada on 13th September 2021. The film will be available in both Japanese and English dubs.

The movie is an original story supervised by Nihei himself, which takes place 10 years after the events of season two.

The news adds to the fans’ excitement, after the announcement of the game adaptation in Shonen Sirius earlier this year.

This new licensing may just make way for the much anticipated season three of the anime, which was speculated to be canceled due to Netflix’s involvement. With all the things going in favor of the fans, we will probably get something this year itself!
