Fukuda’s “My Dress-Up Darling” Manga Crosses 10 Million Copies

My Dress-Up Darling is an exciting anime about cosplaying. It focuses on Marin, a cosplay enthusiast who falls into Wakana’s life. Wakana has an excellent talent for making clothes, and together, they embark on an exciting cosplay journey.

This manga was very well received and sold 3.5 million copies at the start of 2022, even before the manga’s television anime premiere. After the release of its anime adaptation, it has now reached a new height. And here’s everything you need about this series.

Aniplex revealed on Friday that Shinichi Fukuda’s My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) manga has reached 10 million copies in circulation (but not all sold). 

Fukuda drew the illustration below to celebrate the milestone.

Kazumasa Ishida, the character designer and one of the chief animation directors for the manga’s anime adaptation, also drew the illustration below to celebrate the milestone.

To commemorate the 10 million copies sold, the “Manga UP!” app started a 100-chapter free campaign from October 20th to October 26th. For more details, you can visit the app.

To celebrate this event, a digital signage advertising jack was carried out at Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line “Ikebukuro” Station.

On September 17, 2022, Aniplex announced that the series’ second installment is under production and will be out as soon as they wrap up completely. 

Following the incredible success of this series fans are now hoping for more details on the second season. Let’s hope the production company will soon release more information about the sequel.

My Dress-Up Darling is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. It began serialization in Square Enix’s Young Gangan in January 2018, and has been compiled into seven volumes as of April 2021. An anime television series adaptation has been announced.

Traumatized by a childhood incident, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojou passes his days as a loner. To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl, is practically an alien from another world.
