‘Rurouni Kenshin’ is one anime highly awaited by fans, thanks to its classic story and decades-old legacy. The series will bring back the ex-samurai assassin Kenshin Himura to screens as he wanders around Japan and protects its inhabitants.
The manga told the tale of peace, atonement, and love and had a unique plot considering the time it was originally serialized.
On Saturday, the production staff revealed a fourth promo for the new ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ series. It also showcases the ending song for the series, along with its July 6 release date.
In the video, some of the characters are shown apart from Kenshin Himura. These include Kaoru Kamiya, Yahiko Myojin, Sanosuke Sagara, Takani Megumi, and Shinomori Aoshi (who clashes swords with Himura).
The ending song played in the background is “Kissaki” (Sword Tip), created and performed for the anime by Reol.
‘Rurouni Kenshin’ will also have theatrical screenings in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, France, the United States, Indonesia, and South Korea. In Japan, two screenings will be held with cast appearances on June 18 at the United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba, Tokyo.
The main cast that will voice the characters is listed below:
Character | Voice Artist | Other Works |
Kenshin Himura | Sōma Saitō | Hyōma Chigiri (BLUELOCK) |
Kaoru Kamiya | Rie Takahashi | Emilia (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) |
Sanosuke Sagara | Taku Yashiro | Vulcan Joseph (Fire Force) |
Yahiko Myojin | Makoto Koichi | Nurugai (Hell’s Paradise) |
Shinomori Aoshi | Yūma Uchida | Megumi Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen) |
Takani Megumi | Saori Ōnishi | Kaori Shirasaki (Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest) |
The staff members that are working on the new ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ series are as follows:

Character Design | Terumi Nishii | Penguindrum |
Music | Yū Takami | Rainbow – Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin |

The animation looks amazing, something LIDENFILMS has been pulling off for a while. Looking at Tokyo Revengers, Insomniacs After School, and The Legendary Hero is Dead! the studio might do justice to ’Rurouni Kenshin’ as well.
