Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma One-Shot Announced, Release Date

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma will get a one-shot soon. This announcement has made fans excited about the next culinary feat of their favorite teen chef, Yukihira Souma.

According to the 24th issue of the Weekly Shōnen Jump, a one-shot of the famous series will be published in the 25th issue of the magazine scheduled for 25th May.

Tsukuda(author) and Saeki(illustrator) have come up with a one-shot after the manga ended in 2016. It is titled “Yūgen to Jorei Gakkyū” , which means Yūgen and the Class of Female Spirits..

The one-shot will consist of 49 pages with a single colored page. The story revolves around a case that arises in a girls’ high school whose students are from influential and powerful families.

The original manga was also adapted as an anime series in 2015 and has a total of 75 episodes and 5 OVAs so far. Shueisha also published a light novel called Shokugeki no Sōma: à la carte written by Michiko Itō. The anime currently has 4 seasons with an ongoing 5th season.

It is directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani and written by Shogo Yasukawa under J. C. Staff studio. The 3rd and following episodes have been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. The anime is streamed by Crunchyroll.

We will have to patiently wait till the 25th issue of the Weekly Shōnen Jump to get a peek at Souma and his friends and can also expect a new, delicious or bizarre dish from Souma!

About Shokugeki no Souma

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is a Japanese shōnen manga series written by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki.

Souma is the son of the owner of a small eatery in Japan. For his age, Souma is very talented and can quickly cook up some new dishes.

Souma’s father leaves the family business to work with his friend, and Souma’s restaurant is on the verge of closing.

To improve his cooking skills and to save the restaurant, Souma begins studying in Engetsu Teahouse Culinary Academy, which is regarded as Japan’s top culinary academy.
