Food Wars! Season 5 Multiple Episodes Delayed – Anime On Long Hiatus Due To COVID-19 Coronavirus Concerns

Episode 2 of Food Wars! Season 5 titled “The Blue Preliminaries” was released today. With this episode, the anime enters into the BLUE arc of the Food Wars! manga.

Currently, most of the world is under lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

It was not long when the wave of lockdown hit the world of anime and manga. Many big events and chapter/episode releases have already been postponed, and many production houses are being shut down as well.

The official website for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Fifth Plate, the fifth season of the anime, announced on Friday that episode 3 and other future episodes have been postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19.

On its place, the initial three episodes of the fourth season will be aired for the following weeks:

  • April 24: Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Fourth Plate Episode 1
  • May 1: Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Fourth Plate Episode 2
  • May 8: Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Fourth Plate Episode 3

As for “Shokugeki no Soma Go no Sora,” which started broadcasting from April 2020, due to the influence of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the broadcasting after the 3rd episode has been postponed for the time being. I decided to do it.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is a Japanese shōnen manga series written by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. 

Souma is the son of the owner of a small eatery in Japan. For his age, Souma is very talented and can quickly cook up some new dishes.
