The third season of Food Wars ended with the major cliffhanger. Cliffhangers always help add to the hype around the show before the next season comes out and while it is extremely annoying for fans to have to sit and wait and wonder, it truly is a genius marketing tool. We recently learnt that Food Wars Season 4 is in production.
Release Date of Food Wars Season 4
Season four of Food Wars is going to release on 11 October 2019. The series is scheduled to run from 11th October till some time in December. The ending date is unconfirmed since there is no official confirmation of how many episodes the season will have.
Planned for release in late 2019, this season will be the last season of the entire anime series. The official poster of the Food Wars season 4 was released recently.
Season 4 will be more intense because like the first 2 seasons, the third season ended in an awkward place. It ends in the middle of the central arc, just before the climax truly began.
The plot of Food Wars
The story is about Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute. Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute is an elite culinary school located in Tokyo, Japan. This institute graduates selected students each year who mostly come from Totsuki’s junior high school. The campus is huge and has many research societies, cooking classrooms and large arenas used for competitions. The exceptional student chefs reserve seats on the Council of Ten Masters. They can initiate a shokugeki (food war) with any other student or alumni.
Teenager Soma Yukihira dreams to become a full-time chef in his father Joichiro’s family restaurant. Along with this, he wants to surpass his father’s culinary skills. The story takes a turn when Joichiro gets a new job that requires him to travel around the world and he closes his restaurant. Meanwhile, Joichiro has Soma register in Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, an elite culinary school where students engage in food war called shokugeki.
