Fire Force is a Japanese shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The story revolves around the year 198 of the Solar Era in Tokyo, where special fire brigades are fighting against a phenomenon called spontaneous human combustion where human beings are turned into living infernos called “Infernals”. While the Infernals are first-generation cases of spontaneous human combustion, later generations possess the ability to manipulate flames while retaining human form.

In chapter 235, titled, “The Saviour” begins with Honda disappearing in the attack. Oguru ordered Yuichiro to attack the star infernal. Next, while the sun was setting, a flash of light could be seen shining from the sky. A cameraman tries to zoom in with his camera to see who’s floating in the sky and it could be seen that it is Raffles Smith with a fiery mustache and eyebrows was floating. Then Raffles yelled Latom which led to a huge explosion on the ground.
Further, the sky turns dark with black and white stars, and the star infernal shoots rays of fire. The citizens of Tokyo start panicking and thinking of it as some kind of divine punishment. Then another flash of can be seen ascending towards Raffles and he encounters Shinra
At the end of the chapter, Kurono sits on the star Infernal and Fairy with the Cataclysm Force at the top of the 8th pillar and says, “choose which Saviour will ye believe in.”

It is published by Kodansha and has been serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine since September 2015, with the chapters collected into twenty-three tankōbon volumes as of May 2020.
An anime television series adaptation by David Production aired from July to December 2019 on the Super Animeism block. The second season of the Fire Force anime television series is also animated by David Production. Tatsumi Minakawa replaced Yuki Yase to be the director of the series. The series premiered on July 3, 2020.
