Kevin Conroy, The Voice Behind Batman, Passes Away at 66

The world of comics and superheroes has lost another legend walking among us. Kevin Conroy, who has been particularly famous for voicing Batman on film and television, passed away, aged 66.

DC Comics disclosed the heart-breaking news on Friday, adding that the voice behind the Dark Knight was battling intestinal cancer for some time. Kevin voiced the superhero for the first time in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.

His portrayal of Batman was so appreciated that he continued to voice Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne in about fifteen movies, and several DC animated series like The New Batman Adventures (1997-1999), Batman Beyond (1999-2001), and Teen Titans Go! (2018).

Conroy also voiced Batman in several video games, including the Batman: Arkham franchise, the Injustice series, and the recently released Multiversus.

While his portrayal of Batman gained him recognition, his work was not limited to the Caped Crusader. He has voiced other characters in Ben 10: Alien Force, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, and Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
