Dai and Haldar engaged in a ferocious battle in episode 72 of Dragon Quest titled “Battle of True Dragons.”
The fight was an intense one. Dai and Haldar’s aura was such that no one could come any closer to them. They fought hard, giving it their all but unfortunately, their fight didn’t come to an end and we have to wait for the next episode to see the climax.
Dai bravely fights Haldar and refuses any help from his friends. He is able to defeat Haldar, but the battle seems to be not over yet as Haldar is back on his feet, and Dai is not left with much aura.
Dai refuses to give up and is ready to give it all with one last move. The fight is heading towards an obvious climax, and I can’t wait to see the same outcome as all the other times.

Episode 72 Speculations
Dai and Haldar will release their final moves in episode 72 of Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai titled “The Last Attack.”
It seems like the next episode is also going to focus (if not entirely) on the battle between the two dragons, Dai and Haldar. We see some pretty epic animation in the preview itself, so it is right to say that I am extremely excited about it.
The anime is getting to end soon, but we still have a long way to go. The way these battles are taking up one full episode at once, we may have to wait a bit longer for the final battle. It will be interesting as we will meet some old characters again, joining our protagonists.

Episode 71 Recap
Dai and Haldar are engaged in a fierce battle. The fight is so intense that their energy is spilling out, creating a field around them. Popp wants to interfere in their battle and help Dai, but Hyunckel tells him not to do that.
Hyunckel tells Popp that interfering in the fight might kill him. They are keeping everyone out of their war just by their will.
Popp asks why Dai is not using his sword, to which the others point out that Haldar too is not using his sword, and ever since that heat field appeared, they have been fighting hand-to-hand.
Popp doesn’t want to wait, saying that his Medroa can blow away any heat. Princess Leona stops Popp, telling him that Dai choose this duel and they shouldn’t interfere. Dai’s true power is his pure heart, his pure heart and naivety are why they are together as friends.
So if Dai has seen something in Haldar to agree to fight with him, then it is their duty to respect his decision.
Dai and Haldar’s fight starts to get more and more intense. King Vearn is also observing this fight; he remembers the legend in the Underworld about the fight between the two strongest dragons.
Velzar, the Abyss Dragon, and Vorikus, the Lightning Dragon, decided to fight one final battle to decide who was the strongest.
Their fight was as violent as the battle currently going on. After a long, evenly matched battle, Velzar won and became the Abyss king.
Dai finally decides to draw his sword to end the duel. It is time for the final move. Everybody knew that Haldar would use Ultra Combustion Slash, and Dai would use his ultimate move, Avan Strash.
They both take their stance to attack. Dai reveals that he has found a new technique to use Avan Strash, saying that he would use this against Vearn, but he will use it now. Dai attacks, but to Haldar’s shock, he sees the basic Strash move.
Dai immediately attacks with his other move, part of his Avan Strash attack. This catches Haldar by surprise and defeats him.
Everyone is delighted with Dai’s win, but to everyone’s shock, Haldar is still alive and refuses to give up for the sake of his Royal Guards, who sacrificed their lives for him.
Dai, too, is ready to fight again and stops Popp from helping him as he is also fighting for his friends. He still has a move he hasn’t used. They both get ready to fight the final time.

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.
The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.
The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
