I consider myself lucky to be fully experiencing the anime movie boom this year. After tons of delightful film announcements from various series, the boss is finally back! What can I be talking about if not Dragon Ball?
2021 truly is the year of anime films!
The Dragon Ball Super Series is coming back with an entirely new movie under Akira Toriyama’s watchful eyes, and I can’t ask for anything else!
At the Dragon Ball panel of the San Diego Comic-Con event, Toei announced the second Dragon Ball Super film titled Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero!
Of course, any new announcement is incomplete without a trailer, and we have one right here for you:
The video starts with a new teaser, and then the panel members for the upcoming movie are revealed! The voice actor of Goku, Masoko Nozawa, and the producer and executive producers are the guests.
Goku looks just as powerful as ever in the teaser, and even an original character has been unveiled!
Modified designs for Piccolo, Pan, and Krillin, were also revealed.
The film carries the promise of new characters, will it be an original story by Toriyama sensei? His previous message about the film has teased a fantastic plot:
I really shouldn’t talk too much about the plot yet, but be prepared for some extreme and entertaining bouts, which may feature an unexpected character.
New visual aesthetics have been incorporated into the film, and the teaser shows the use of CGI techniques. With Toriyama sensei directly involved in the composition, and dialogue writing, I’m sure that the upcoming film will be a blockbuster release!
About Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball Super came into serialization in June 2015, edited and illustrated by Akira Toriyama and his protege Toyotaru, respectively.
Dragon Ball Super takes the DB universe to another level by introducing the long asleep God of Destruction, Beerus.
Beerus initially decided to decimate Earth but postpones his plans when discovering the fantastic food he had never eaten. He also hopes to fight Super Saiyajin God one day.
