Dragon Ball Super is back with another anime film after Broly, and it looks like Goku has some new characters to entertain.
The 21st film of the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, will once again be constructed under Akira Toriyama’s watchful eyes. From the original plot to the character design, Toriyama-sensei is making sure that we get only the best from Dragon Ball.
A new promo poster has been revealed at the New York Comic Con for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero anime film. The movie is scheduled to be released sometime in 2022.
The poster shows Goku and Piccolo, who are the protagonists of the movie. Two new characters can also be spotted. The lack of Vegeta on the poster is making fans question his whereabouts.
Since the previously released character designs show Pan as a kid, the film’s plot is likely to be based somewhere after the Granolah saga of the manga.
Toriyama-sensei had controlled himself from divulging too much about the upcoming film, but he did mention new characters. The posters show two new characters labeled as one and two.
Will their stories be similar to androids 17 and 18? Given that Toriyama-sensei is a genius, a repeated story is improbable. Yet, I can’t help but relate it to the androids.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s animation style will be 3DCG based, as shown from the latest teaser.
The film was officially announced on Goku day, but the news was leaked by mistake through Toei’s website beforehand. Although the leak was corrected as soon as possible, all Dragon Ball fans got an early surprise, and speculations have not stopped to date.
