Dragon Ball Super has ‘Something Else’ Planned in 2022 for the Series

Dragon Ball Super has given us some great characters and plotlines like Black Goku, Universe Survival Saga, Lord Beerus and Whis, and so much more. Considering these, it doesn’t come as a big surprise that fans want more of it.

After Dragon Ball Z ended, every fan thought that no other series could top this, but then DBS came along and gave it tough competition.

While both are equally amazing, we just have to accept that the DBZ era is over for good, and Super still has a lot of potential leftover for some great storylines.

As if Zeno himself heard the fans speculating possible plots for DBS on the internet, the franchise came up with some exciting news.

Shueisha’s editor Akio Iyoku revealed in Weekly Dragon Ball News’ New Year special edition video that the franchise is planning something more for the Dragon Ball Super series in 2022.

That means, other than the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film scheduled for an April 22 release, the Series is planning another installment. It is not yet confirmed whether it will be an anime, but our hopes are pinned on it.

If it is indeed another anime installment, I’m curious about what it will be. The future Trunks angle has become stale now, so I don’t think it will be back, but we can still have a lot around the present Trunks and Goten.

This brings me to my next point: Why didn’t Goten ever come from the future if Trunks could? And I am not talking about the timeline where Goku and Chi-Chi die before having Goten. I think the series should explore this arc a bit more.

Again, the news of the installment being an anime is not yet confirmed, but there’s a good chance it will be an anime. Iyoku just teased us by saying that they had something planned but didn’t give any hints about it.

I’d honestly like to see more of Lord Beerus and maybe more of the younger characters exploring their Saiyan potential.

Dragon Ball Super takes the DB universe to another level by introducing the long asleep God of Destruction, Beerus.
