The recon team steps onto the island for a big surprise in episode 7 of Dr. Stone season 3, titled “Light of Hope and Despair.”

As a large group getting onto the island at once may cause a misunderstanding and even incur a fight for no reason, they decide to make a small recon team. Consisting of just the original trio and Soyuz, their entrance into the island is immediately turned upside down.

Turning back to look at the ship, they find all their friends turned to stone by an unknown enemy. However, the power of science has come much further, and they quickly pinpoint a lead and source of information on the village.

3. Recap of Episode 7

They watch the island under the extreme storm’s duress and manage to sneak up on it without being noticed. However, Ryusui quickly sees a change in the weather and finds it’s soon going to stop raining, and they take cover behind some rocks as a result.

The Recon squad is being gathered as they need to first infiltrate the island with a small group of Senku, Soyuz, Gen, and Kohaku to figure out how dangerous the island is and whether the inhabitants are hostile. Meanwhile, on the ship, they find a stowaway child.

Suika has sneaked on and helped with the cleaning and spontaneous labor on the ship. Meanwhile, Ukyo finds something on the sea floor, and Ginro dives into the sea and finds multiple statues on the floor. In a flash of light that Ryusui only notices for a split second, Soyuz uses his telescope to see that everyone on the ship has turned to stone.

Ryusui had kicked Suika to the island at the last moment, saving her from petrification. As news gets to Senku, he quickly begins deducing the enemy’s origin and how they can acquire the platinum. Finding some seashells on the floor, they realize it must be from the culprit.

Gen uses his mentalist ability and says that it should be a young girl judging by the shells and the fingerprints, and also finds a stray hair in the bushes from where she could’ve seen the ship. After finding pollen evidence in the hair, Kohaku quickly jumps to the trees and finds the lady moving toward the village.

Senku and Gen decide that their best course of action is to try and get her on their side to find the location of the platinum. However, they’re interrupted by three men proposing to her immediately, and they eavesdrop on her words and realize that the petrification ability belongs to the village leader.

Amaryllis gets immediately interrogated by Senku, who is exceptionally straightforward. Still, as the rest of the group emerges from the bush, she immediately jumps and hugs Soyuz confusing him for the master. Clearing up the misunderstanding, she tries to manipulate Senku instead.

The group finds that a riot is about to break and discover a group trying to attack the master, they quickly calm them down using chloroacetate gas. This prompts Amaryllis to thank them and join their side since she knows they also want to help the petrified people of the island.
