The science crew finally comes face to face with Whyman, and although they were sure that the Medusa couldn’t be activated in the vacuum of space, the unthinkable happens.
Kohaku receives a message, and it instructs Medusa’s activation using a fake Senku’s voice. The Medusa was thrown in the air at the last second to avoid being petrified. A faint black frame of Whyman can be seen, to which Senku immediately recognizes it to be Whyman and says, ‘So, it was you.’
Senku reveals that the culprit behind humankind’s petrification on Earth was right by his side all along.
Whyman keeps urging Kohaku to open Medusa’s capsule in fake Senku’s voice, and finally, when Kohaku opens it, Whyman thanks her for doing it.

4. Recap of Chapter 226
This chapter starts with Ryusui joining the three astronauts in the spacecraft. Back at ground control, Ren and the others talk of how Ryusui still trained even though he wasn’t part of the space team.
Ryusui brings a new circuit that the team needed because the current one is fried.
After the repairs are done, the space team activates the Medusa for petrification. This process makes it easier for the astronauts to save on life support till they reach the Moon.
Meanwhile, Xeno and the team explain how they will keep track of the spacecraft using radio waves between the earth and the crew. Three days later, as the spacecraft reaches closer to the Moon, the space team gets revived.
Kohaku witnesses the Moon’s surface up close along with the team.
Ground control knows once the spacecraft goes to the other side of the Moon, they will lose communication. Xeno states they will rely solely on their eyes and measurements to navigate space.
Later, Ryusui brings up who will step foot on the Moon first. Senku states with the plans laid out, he should stay back in the command module as he’s the science guy. Ryusui denies the plan and says he will take charge of the command module.
He then says since Senku represents the scientist of the new stone world, he will be the first to walk on the Moon.
Everyone gets surprised by Ryusui’s words and agrees with him. As one of the craft units descent on the Moon, the world watches the Moon landing via live stream.
Senku and the science crew know this is an entirely different step than the 20th-century landing. They’re heading into a battle that will reveal the secrets of petrification and Why-man or humanity’s doom.
With that said, Senku says this is humanity’s first giant step into the battle for future science.
