Although it’s not a very popular one, otakus, who are fans of the slice-of-life genre, absolutely love this one. After four years of its serialization, NHK plans to promote it more through the anime industry.
NHK has revealed that Saya Miyauchi’s Dog Signal manga has been slated for a TV anime adaptation in fall of 2023. It will be broadcast on the NHK Educational channel, and more details on its international streaming will be out soon.

The story follows a rookie dog trainer named Miyu Samura, who is left with a dog after his girlfriend breaks up with him. Miyu has no experience on how to keep a dog as a pet and doesn’t know how to deal with the situation he is in now.
By chance and pure luck, Miyu comes across a professional and experienced dog trainer, Shinichiro Niwa. Meeting Niwa results in Miyu’s life gradually changing and him becoming a better caretaker of his new pet.
In addition to this, the mangaka, Saya Miyauchi, has drawn a celebratory visual featuring Miyu, Niwa, and a couple of good boys. All of them are holding up a banner announcing the anime decision for 2023.
