Tsubomi has been Mob’s friend since they were little. She was the first person after Ritsu to see Mob display his psychic powers.

Mob fell for her as she never belittled him or was never afraid of his powers and so he tried to impress her using his Psychic powers.

However in time, Tsubomi got bored with Mob’s Psychic powers, and she made him realize that psychic powers alone do not make him special or interesting.

Tsubomi is a major impetus for many of Mob’s life decisions. How she reacts to him affects him psychologically as well as physically.

When Tsubomi had gotten bored of Mob’s powers and pursued athletic boys, Mob suppressed his powers and joined the Body Improvement Club.

Tsubomi doesn’t exactly give Mob the attention he yearns for, but she has always cared about him.

We can take the part where Mob confesses his feelings for her as an example.

Even though Spice City had given an evacuation order. Tsubomi stayed as she knew that Mob wouldn’t leave her waiting or worse, abandon her.

She believed in him and cared about what he wanted to talk about.

Also, Tsubomi probably knew that the storm was caused by Mob so she waited calmly on a bench.

When Does Mob confess his feelings to Tsubomi?

Mob confesses his feelings to Tsubomi by the end of Season 3.

However, she had rejected him, saying that she had never thought of him that way before.

Mob had heard a rumor that Tsubomi would be leaving their middle school in 3 months.

This led to a lot of boys confessing their feelings towards Tsubomi having beauty and brains.

Mob also wanted to confess his feelings so he called her once and asked to meet her at the park where they used to play in their childhood. His voice was quivering so much that Tsubomi got worried too.

He got a bouquet of sunflowers for her but on the way he got hit by a truck while trying to save a child and a cat.

However, this hits some part of him that makes him go on a crazy rampage with a tumultuous storm tearing Spice City.

He eventually reaches the park where Tsubomi is waiting for him and she rejects him.

However, this can be taken positively as Mob did feel dejected however, he embraced his emotions and his powers.

Six months after Mob’s confession, as seen in the manga’s epilogue and season 3 finale Mob worked on himself and he even became the Vice Captain of the Body Improvement Club.

It is also revealed that Mob and Tsubomi still keep in touch and bond at another level, looks like the seeds have been sown.

It’s evident that Tsubomi genuinely likes Mob, though not in the way that he wants her to.

Maybe in a few more years, the two might reunite for university and romantically hit it off, blossoming right on time for spring. Fingers crossed!

Why Did Mob Date Emi If He Liked Tsubomi?

Mob ended up being in a relationship with his classmate Emi as she had asked him out after losing a bet with her friends. However, they weren’t in love.

Our Naive Mob went along with Emi’s proposal and even walked with her from school for a whole week.

Although she was never his real girlfriend, the fake relationship had some golden moments that impacted both, Mob and Emi.

It primed Mob how to be around and talk to girls, a much-needed experience—as for Emi, the time spent with Mob gained her a new respect for him. She saw how caring and sensitive he was.

When Emi’s friends began teasing her about her writing and ripped up her novel, Mob stepped in to defend her and her work.

He stood up to the bullies and then helped her gather the pieces of her manuscript – until the wind blew the pile away.

Mob used his powers to retrieve all the pieces and put them back together.

Emi realized who Mob really was, and even used him then onward as a muse for her next writing project.

Incidentally, Tsubomi witnessed Mob using his powers to help Emi, where she saw Mob and his powers in a new light, rather than a young boy just trying to impress her with his psychic powers.
