Longtime adversary 50 Cent is going to confront it all in a new Netflix docuseries following rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest following various lawsuits and abuse allegations against him.
Accusations of assault on Combs were made in November 2023, and the topic has been in the public eye ever since.
Seven months later, the rapper faces eleven lawsuits, all of which will be investigated in a new Netflix docuseries produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, a vocal Diddy critic.
Fans eagerly await the ‘In Da Club’ singer’s response to the slew of allegations since he has been vocally critical of Combs for several years.
Is The Diddy Documentary Officially Happening?
As of September 2024, Netflix has officially confirmed plans to partner with 50 Cent on a docuseries exploring the allegations and charges against Combs. Rumors of the project began circulating in May after Jackson announced they had “won the bidding rights.
According to the streaming site, the new docuseries will “address the recent charges facing the music mogul, including sex trafficking and racketeering, along with multiple allegations of sexual assault and violent abusive behavior.”
Alexandra Stapleton will direct and executively produce, partnering with Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television production business.
The two, in a joint press statement, stated, “This is a story with enormous human impact. It is a complex story that spans decades, not just the headlines or videos seen thus far. We remain committed to giving voice to the voiceless and presenting real and nuanced opinions.
“While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’s story is not the full story of hip hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
Jackson’s “beef” with Diddy has been public knowledge for several years, and the rapper addressed it in July 2024.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he stated, “I’ve been quite open about not going to Puffy parties and doing stuff like that. For years, I’ve avoided that sh*t. It’s simply an uncomfortable energy associated with it.”
When asked about watching the footage of Diddy attacking former lover Cassie Ventura, Jackson responded, “First, he denied that it even happened, and then the tape comes out – so everything he says is a lie.”
“When someone watches that, if they have a daughter and they can imagine her being under those circumstances, that sh*t is crazy. Like, they let him get away with it. With all the influence and power you have, the person you’re with is supposed to want to be a part of your life, not be forced.”
Since the announcement, fans have also been quick to find old video footage and quotes of Jackson speaking out against Diddy.
There is currently no further information or release date for the Netflix docuseries.
2. Earnings from Sean Combs’ documentary will go to victims of se*ual assaults, 50 Cent announced
Last Year, Diddy’s Former Partner Cassie Ventura filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against him with multiple accusations involving a history of physical violence and sexual abuse.
On December 7, 2023, 50 Cents posted on X that his documentary Diddy Do It would feature the victims of the rapper’s assaults and added that all the earnings would be donated to the victims.
While 50 Cent teased the project on social media multiple times last week, his post on Wednesday came only hours after a fourth woman made sexual assault allegations against Combs. The anonymous plaintiff claimed she was gang raped by the billionaire and his pals when she was 17.
50 Cent has been throwing subtle barbs and direct disses at Combs for years.
Combs was originally charged in November by singer Cassie, who claimed she was raped, assaulted, and sex trafficked throughout their relationship. Combs settled the lawsuit within 24 hours, but two other women accused him of similar claims in the following weeks.
50 Cent has mocked Combs for years through his music and social media. After Combs resigned as chairman of Revolt, the rapper didn’t wait long to call him out, saying he’d gladly buy the firm before his concerned sponsors pulled out.
“I’ll pay you a few bucks for it immediately! “Sell it to me, and we can be friends,” he wrote.
3. Does The Show Have A Release Date?
According to sources, there is no guaranteed release date for the P. Diddy documentary on Netflix. The documentary has only recently been scheduled for production, so neither 50 Cent nor the streamer have provided confirmation.
However, according to a Deadline report published on September 18, 2024, Investigation Discovery is now developing another docuseries.
Maxine Productions plans to produce the new ID documentary “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” in 2025.
The series will follow the music mogul’s rise and fall and the numerous issues surrounding him.
