With the premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2, Rengoku impressed everyone with his flamboyance and Flash-like speed. As the story progresses, we will get to see more of his magnificent skills.
In this episode, Rengoku encounters the first demon on the train, which he decapitates with a single strike of Flame Breathing First Form: Unknowing Fire. This allows him to move quickly behind the demon and take his head from the back.
His amazing speed is on full display yet again as he saves Inosuke and a train passenger from right under the second demon’s nose. He doesn’t even bother to draw his sword while moving close to the long-limbed demon.
He finishes off the second demon with Flame Breathing Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun, which is a quick draw technique where he releases an arching slash attack from the bottom.
This is only the beginning, as Rengoku has seven more forms of Flame Breathing to show off. While movie watchers might be familiar with most of them, the anime might just give us the ones we were missing before.
Although Rengoku’s skills are hardly a surprise, given that he is a Hashira, he seems to be a cut above most of them. He can even go against the strongest demons out there, as we will later see.
His strength may be at full display, but all this is just a dream. As the Lower Moon Enmu executes his deep sleep scheme, Rengoku’s fire will only burn brighter from now.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge. Its publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump began in February 2016 and ended in May 2020 with 23 collected tankōbon volumes.
In a world filled with demons and demon slayers, Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the lives of two siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado after— the murder of their family at the hands of a demon. Their hardship does not end there, as Nezuko’s life is spared only for her to live as a demon.
As the oldest sibling, Tanjiro vows to protect and cure his sister. The story traces the bond of this brother-sister or better yet, demon slayer and demon combo against the odds of an arch antagonist and the society.
