Demon Slayer Chapter 196 – Release Date, Where To Read & Story Updates

Demon Slayer’s awaited chapter 195 was released today, and it saw the reconfiguration of Tanjiro and Iguro’s strength as a team as they retaliate against Muzan.

The chapter adds some progression to their fight in favor of the Corps. It even sees the reappearance of a beloved character and an important detail unveiled.

It’s edging towards a showdown that will determine the fate of this manga.

1. Chapter 196 Release Date & Speculation

Chapter 196 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will be released on the 1st of March, 2020. The chapter will immerse Nezuko back into the dominant narrative, while Muzan might try to prevent his burn out by going all out.

2. Chapter 196 Theories

Muzan flees from Iguro and Tanjiro in the previous chapter, which signifies the disadvantage he’s in. But it is unlikely that the author would let him burn out without a final trump card – possibly, a highly self-destructive one.

We know that Muzan clings to his life more than anything – which is addressed in the previous chapter. Therefore, he might have a final pernicious move but one that could let him live. Nezuko’s reappearance might help strengthen Iguro and Tanjiro’s offenses – keeping her transformation aside.

While on the side, we witnessed Muzan’s narrative that piercing attacks are far more dangerous to him at the moment. At the same time, Iguro’s pierces through Muzan’s chest – they will observe the toll of this. Therefore, this will become a focal point for their next offensive strategy.

3. Chapter 195 Plot

The chapter begins with a glimpse of Mitsuri Kanroji’s unconscious and injured state being healed by Tamayo’s cat. After this, the chapter begins with Muzan’s monologue that recalled his view on Yoriichi.

Muzan claims that not even Buddha or God could have seen that such an inept man would inflict wounds on him that wouldn’t heal over hundreds of years. He goes on to call Yoriichi the real monster for this.

The narrative switches back and forth between Tanjiro and Muzan through the chapter. Soon, Tanjiro makes note of Muzan’s overtly weak condition. He decides to aim for Muzan’s vitals as an alternative to entering the See-Through World.

His concern then shifts to Iguro – who he tries to help regain a part of his eyesight. Iguro manages to stab a fleeing Muzan, which has a more devastating effect than any slashes.

Meanwhile, Tanjiro has an epiphany to use Yushiro’s seals that will link Kaburamaru’s eyes to Iguro’s so he can see. A scuffle ensues, but Iguro gets a hand on these seals successfully.

Muzan retaliates furiously, and further away from the scene of battle, we see a demon-human hybrid Nezuko looking on with fear.
