2. Chapter 195 Theories

The previous chapter – 194 – ends with Tanjiro noticing Muzan’s scars inflicted by Yoriichi hundreds of years ago. These scars haven’t healed entirely over the years and have been etched into Muzan’s cells. As theorized, multiple factors will lead to Muzan’s defeat – Tamayo’s medicine, the scars, the 13th form of Hinokami Kagura, and a group coordinated attack by the Pillars.

Obanai’s sacrifice of his eyes to protect Tanjiro is symbolic of the significance Tanjiro will play in defeating Muzan. We speculate that Tanjiro’s trump card will take the forefront backed by the support of the Pillars.

3. Chapter 194 Plot

Chapter 194 begins with Yushiro finding Lady Tamayo’s cat, who he had turned into a demon – thereby, rescuing him. Yushiro and the team are scuttling around to heal the Pillars injured in battle, but to his dismay, Himejima seems to be in a far more critical condition than the others. At the same time, Yushiro prays that Lady Tamayo protects Tanjiro in battle, the narrative shifts to Tanjiro itself.

Tanjiro seems to be losing ground on the battle, especially when he realizes he’s unable to enter See-Through World due to lack of oxygen. Muzan inflicts a massive attack that is blocked by Obanai, who loses his eyes in the process. Obanai proceeds to engage Muzan in battle with the help of Kaburamaru.

The chapter closes on Tanjiro noticing Muzan’s scars inflicted by Yoriichi that had never healed completely. He views it as guidance by Yoriichi himself on the weak points that will help defeat Muzan.
