In episode 2 of “Delicious in Dungeon,” after Marcille wakes up from the horrible nightmares of the dungeon food, the party decides to hunt for basilisk eggs. When they get to the monster’s nest, it comes in chasing after some other adventurers. The basilisk attacks Marcille after seeing her with the egg, but Laios and Senshi defeat it.
Later, they agree to take the route with fewer monsters to the third floor. Before that, they go to collect some mandrakes for food, but again, Marcille gets caught in an accident. When the group finally enters the hidden corridor with traps, Senshi triggers them by accident. After learning that there’s oil in the traps, he takes Chilchuck’s help to gather it and cook food for them.

I. Is “Delicious in Dungeon” on a Break?
No, Season 1 of “Delicious in Dungeon” is not on a break this week and should be released as usual on the above-mentioned date.
2. Episode 3 Speculation
In the next episode, the group will continue their journey to the lower floors in order to save Falin. Laios said that the dragon comes out of its lair once every month to hunt. Then, it goes back to sleeping again until it has digested all the food. The party’s goal is to ambush the dragon before that happens and rescue Falin.
As they descend to lower floors, they will encounter a variety of monsters, which means a variety of new dishes on their list. Even though Marcille still gets disgusted she is slowly getting fond of the food Senshi makes. What the dungeon has prepared for them is only something we can look forward to.
3. Recap of Episode 2
After Marcille wakes up from sleep due to a nightmare, she smells a familiar fragrance from her dream. She discovers other adventurers eating “normal” food while eating monsters. Hearing her ranting about this, Senshi gives a lecture on how the food they are eating is no different.
Since nutrition is important, they decide to hunt for basilisk eggs. Once they reach the nest, they find the eggs really easily. Suddenly, they hear the cry of the basilisk. The monster comes chasing after the adventurers they saw before, and after seeing Marcille with an egg, it attacks her.
Marcille tries her best to run away but gets knocked on the floor. Just as the monster was going to attack her, Laios jumped in front of it and tried to intimidate it. This diverted its attention from Marcille, and Senshi jumped at it from behind. Laios also attacked it from the front, and since Basilisks have two heads while attacked from both sides, it gets confused.
After they took down the monster, they cooked it with a poison antidote and fed the dish to the injured adventurer. Once again, Marcille refused to eat at first but later ate the dish. Afterward, they leave for the third floor but stop to collect some food as they will be taking the route with fewer monsters.
Chilchuck tells Marcille to slow down a bit since she is pushing herself, and at this rate, she’ll just become a burden. This statement affects Marcille badly, and when they go to pick mandrakes, she does something stupid, putting her life in danger. Even though nothing too bad happened, Marcille fell into a temporary state of trance.
The group then headed inside the secret room full of traps. This is Chilchuck’s time to shine. He guides the group through the room, but Senshi accidentally activates a few traps. After he learns about the fire and oil traps, he persuades Chilchuck to help him gather the oil for cooking.
Once they are done with the preparations, they use the traps to cook the monsters they caught beforehand. Senshi teaches Chilchuck some cooking basics in return, he agrees to teach him some ways of disposing of traps.

Dungeon Meshi is a fantasy gourmet manga by Ryoko Kui. It started getting published in 2014. It is also licensed by Yen Press and published in English as ‘Delicious in Dungeon’. As of August 2022, 12 volumes have been released.
The story starts after a whole kingdom is sunk, and its survivor king promises his treasury to anyone who can defeat the culprit magician. Guilds are thus formed, and tons of adventures go on this journey.
The protagonist loses his sister to a dragon on one such journey and promises to bring her back. On his way, he and his party need to survive by cooking monsters inside the dungeon.
