The final chapter of the Utawarerumono anime series just ended its run in December, and the series is on a new re-run for its fans in the West. The mystical fantasy anime is now also running in English dub.
On January 7, 2023, Crunchyroll announced that the third season ‘Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth’ will also run in English dub, with the first episode running on the same day.
The series originally ran for 28 episodes in July 2022. Crunchyroll aired the series on its platform.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth is based on the game by Aquaplus. It was originally released in September 2016 for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. It was later released worldwide in September 2017.
The third season tells the story after the emperor’s death, which leads to chaos in the Yamato Empire. An evil general rules the empire now intending to become the supreme ruler. However, a group of fugitives seeks to thwart his plans by bringing all the kingdoms together.
Studio White Fox has developed the series, with Kenichi Kawamura as the director. Itsuki Yokoyama composed the series and Masahiko Nakada designed the characters. Aquaplus composed the music for the anime.
About Utawarerumono
Utawarerumono is a role-playing visual novel game developed by Leaf, Sting, and Aquaplus in 2002. It has also been adapted into several media, including anime, manga, and drama CDs.
Eruruu finds an injured man in the woods. The man does not remember anything about himself but is welcomed by Eruruu at her home. Her grandmother names him Hakuoro. Unlike other residents who have large ears and tails, Hakuoro only has a mask the he cannot remove.
