Charlotte is a Summer 2015 original anime by Jun Maeda. Season 1 of the show ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans on the edge of their seats, anxious for Season 2. Charlotte also received an original Special after Season 1, which served as a side story to the main TV anime.
Jun Maeda’s Charlotte is a heart-wrenching psychological anime sprinkled with romance. The story follows Yuu Otosaka, a high school boy with superpowers that let him slip into people’s minds and control their actions. Using these abilities, Yuu managed to become an ace student, securing a seat in a prestigious school.
But, after Yuu gets caught by a fellow classmate, he transfers to a school for supernaturally gifted students. And hence begins a cat and mouse chase where Yuu tracks down all the ability users who abuse their powers.

1. Release Date
Season 2 of Charlotte is yet to be announced. We can expect Season 2 release by the Summer of 2022 since the year’s anime lineup is almost over.
Season 1 of Charlotte did financially well and is one of the best-selling works from P.A. So, a sequel is entirely possible.
2. What To Expect From Season 2
The Charlotte anime was an original work that means no source material could be adapted into a second season. Also, there are no loose ends in the story that could be picked up in Season 2.
That being said, we can expect Season 2 to follow an alternate timeline where events would take place differently. Maybe Yuu won’t be discovered by Nao in the first place and would lead a completely different life.
