Can Garp defeat Blackbeard? Which BB pirate crew members can he beat?

After reading One Piece chapter 1080, I have to admit I totally underestimated Garp, and damn, was I wrong. We all knew prime Garp was a beast, but the old dude still got it!

He straight-up destroyed an entire town with a single punch! Is this still One Piece, or did I accidentally start reading One Punch Man?

I’m excited to see who Garp will be matched against in Blackbeard’s crew. But one thing’s for sure, after seeing that Galaxy Impact move, I’m convinced that Garp can take on most of those dirty pirates.

Blackbeard could defeat Garp in a fight, given his reputation for using underhanded tactics. Kuzan could potentially hold his own against Garp but not beat him. No other members of Blackbeard’s crew are likely to pose a threat to Garp in battle.

Alrighty, time to dive into the nitty-gritty of this epic showdown we’re all waiting for!

1. Garp vs. The Blackbeard Pirates – Can they withstand the Marine’s might?

Finally, One Piece chapter 1080 has given us a glimpse into all the 12 devil fruit users in Blackbeard’s pirate crew. From the “champion” Jesus Burgess to a sickly doctor, his crew is full of strong and quirky characters.

The members heavily rely on their devil fruit powers, which might not be enough to take on someone like Garp, a top-tier haki user. But knowing those sneaky devils, they might have some underhanded tricks up their sleeves.

Blackbeard is the strongest member of his crew, and without him, Garp would likely defeat most of the other members in battle. They may be able to capture him, but ultimately, they would not be able to beat him in a fair fight.

And in a one-on-one fight, it’s not even a question of who would come out on top. I can confidently say that Garp would beat their asses without breaking a sweat.

2. Blackbeard vs. Garp

Let’s dive into the juicy details of Garp and Blackbeard’s potential clash. Garp’s Galaxy Impact was absolutely epic! It was about time we saw some action from the old man after all the hype around him.

Blackbeard isn’t on the island at the moment, but he could show up any time after dealing with Law. And if these two finally go at it, you know it will be one hell of a fight.

But let’s face it, we all know the deal here – if the battle goes offscreen, Blackbeard will take the W.

To defeat Garp, Blackbeard will have to resort to dirty tricks, which he most likely will. Garp could come out on top in a fair fight if he doesn’t face any stamina issues due to his age. But we all know that Blackbeard won’t play fair.

As much as it pains me to say it, Blackbeard has the plot armor of being Luffy’s ultimate enemy. And we all know how much Oda loves his character, so it’s highly unlikely that anyone will take him down before the final battle.

Best case scenario, Garp and the Sword members manage to escape, but they won’t actually defeat anyone besides the other members.

3. Kuzan (Aokiji) vs. Garp

A fight between Kuzan and Garp is not very likely to happen, but if it does, I think it’ll be quite the spectacle. These two are both absolute powerhouses in their own right. 

But, if I had to pick a winner, I think Garp would have the edge over his former pupil.

If Kuzan and Garp were to fight, Garp would come out as the winner. Although Kuzan has grown much stronger, seeing Garp one-punch an entire town makes it clear that Kuzan is not currently as powerful as Garp.

But who knows, things might take an unexpected turn, especially with all the rumors floating around about Kuzan’s allegiance. He might just end up switching sides and helping Koby escape instead of fighting Garp.

And if he does indeed turn on Blackbeard, it would be a glorious sight to see him team up with Garp and take down anyone who dares to stand in their way.

4. Shiryu vs. Garp

Shiryu could land some serious hits on Garp with help from his crew and maybe a few sneaky tricks if Garp’s got that whole “sacrificing himself for the new generation” thing going on.

If Garp and Shiryu were to fight, Garp would win. However, I don’t think Shiryu would attack Garp directly. He might call for Blackbeard’s help, but the weaker members of the crew could foolishly try to face Garp and get defeated.

The rest of the Blackbeard crew members are no match for Garp, especially with his latest attack; who knows what else those hands can throw.
