Ryouma prepares to head off to his hometown in episode 5 of By the Grace of the Gods season 2, titled “Ryoma and the New Acquaintance”. Ryouma finds that one of his cleaner slimes is about to evolve. Since his hometown is in the Great Forest of Schluses, he consults the adventurer guild and tells them of his desire to increase his rank.
One of his missions takes him to Keleban, the city where the magic market will be held. His employer is magic items workshop owner named Dinome, who is coincidentally also an acquaintance of Serge. After taking a liking to Ryouma, Dinome gives him a magic item that he tinkers with and turns into a music box. Since their world hasn’t seen anything like it before, it fascinates Serge.

1. Episode 6 Speculation
Ryouma came through with another new invention. Since Dinome has taken a liking to him, he won’t really have a problem with commissioning him to make the music boxes. It will probably be a hit item among the nobles since nothing of the sort exists in their world yet.
The next episode will start with the magic item market, which Ryouma is highly excited about. It will be a new and interesting experience for him, inspiring him to create more. He will also soon find out what the cleaner slime evolved into after ingesting the charcoal, which will be another new item to his already vast collection of slime species. The new slime may prove to be even more useful than a cleaner slime.

3. Episode 5 Recap
Callum informs Ryouma that one of the cleaner slimes put the charcoal he put in the laundry room and apologizes for it. Ryouma assures him and excitedly tells him that the slime will evolve and gain new abilities.
Ryouma tells Callum about his plan to go to his hometown to retrieve the heirlooms his grandparents left him. Callum is surprised to find that Ryouma’s hometown is in the Great Forest of Schluss since it’s such a dangerous place. Ryouma gives him the job of taking care of the shop while he prepares for his trip after consulting the adventurer’s guild.
At the guild, Maylene, the receptionist, introduces Ryouma to a new employee named Paena and requests to put her in charge of his work. Ryouma agrees and tells them that he wishes to increase his rank and gains information about Schluss, which surprises them both. Ryouma explains the situation, and Maylene tells him that she can now realize why his abilities are so high.
Paena quickly builds a contract for him, and he signs without finding any issues. He asks them if they can offer him a short-term job that can increase his rank. Paena finds an urgent delivery job to Keleban for him. Although the job is nearly impossible to finish within time, she tells her that he may be able to pull it off due to his spatial magic. Ryouma accepts the job.
After arriving at Keleban, Ryouma finds the city bustling due to the upcoming markets. He completes his delivery to a magic items workshop owner. Coincidentally, Serge comes in, and the workshop owner, Dinome, realizes that Serge knows Ryouma too. Dinome decides to show his magimobiles to Ryouma as well, along with Serge.
During their conversation, Dinome tells them that he is saving money to send his grandson to the academy. He enthusiastically talks about how his grandson may be a genius as he made a small magic trinket at just four years. Taking a liking to Ryouma, he gives the trinket to him.
Serge shows Ryouma around and leaves for some work, promising to have dinner together. Ryouma decides to make something with the trinket. During dinner, Serge asks him what he was working on enthusiastically, and he shows him a small music box.
Serge is fascinated with the music box and tells Ryouma that nothing like that exists in their world yet and so he should take advantage of that. Since Ryouma doesn’t have enough time to make them himself, Serge advises Ryouma to commission Dinome for the job.
Ryouma writes a letter to Eli, telling him about Keleban and excited about the magic market.
