The fight will likely be a close battle as Kiseru is known to be quick and decisive as he took out both Batta and Fugou instantly and is not a regular ninja. Boruto will still win, but we can also expect the arrival of Sarada and the gang to back him up.

We could also glimpse Ouga’s motives and clear his air of mystery, or he’ll get destroyed immediately. Both probabilities are equally likely.

Recap of Episode 279

Batta exposes the lie in Kiseru’s backstory since she was also born near the same area he claims to be from. She also found a communication device, possibly using it to keep communications with Ouga to make the experiment go smoothly.

Boruto tries to defend him, but Batta is insistent on her discovery. They randomly choose envelopes and are scattered them through a large field of rocks for the next game. They are assigned a random number from 1 to 8 on the cards.

They need to fight the others for their cards in order to get at least a minimum of 7; those who already have above seven just have to stay on the defensive since they got lucky with the draw.

Boruto gets stuck with a 6, while Shamo gets lucky with an 8 and immediately flashes it around. Kiseru receives a 7 and goes to report back to Ouga, but he is missing his communication device.

Batta and Fugou tussle over the suitcase, ending in the case contents falling out and his secret revealed. He was going to threaten the kidnappers with the drug in the briefcase, but now that it’s broken, it’s all gone to waste.

As they argue, Fugou gets stabbed in the back, and Batta is attacked. Namua and Yatsume meet up and coordinate together. They also meet up with Shamo and Boruto and find Fugou and Batta’s bodies.

Rokuro shows up with the 2 and 3 from Batta and Fugou as he faces off with Boruto and the rest of the group. He remains short of 7, though, and Boruto offers to trade his 6 for a 3 and 2 to make the maximum number of people pass.

Rokuro decides to attack and takes Shamo hostage but is caught off guard by Boruto’s flying Rasengan. Sarada and Kawaki come across a helpless Mitsuki tied up with paper bombs on a tree.

Kawaki approaches and triggers the trap and becomes trapped in paper bombs, but he breaks out of it immediately by setting himself on fire. Rokuro remains fighting as Yatsume also goes to join in.

However, Boruto does not leave him dead but instead gives him the 6. Kiseru remains missing, however, and he is revealed to be the actual culprit of Batta and Fugou’s attack. Everyone progresses to the next stage except Boruto and Kiseru.
