Any simpleton (me) would’ve thought that Black Clover would slowly ease into the final saga. Yet, in chapter 332, the final boss himself seeks out Asta and speeds up everything.
In all fairness, we had three whole months to deal with the fact that the Time Devil dwelled inside Julius.
Lucifero also appeared in the chapter’s beginning with all the glory of his battered self. The next scene suggests that Lucius has taken the Devil King’s heart.
After a one-year timeskip, the heroes have been honored with new ranks, and Asta is now a ‘First Class Senior Magic Knight.’ Yuno outranks him because of his devil powers, but he is one step closer to being the Wizard King.
Keeping the impending battles aside, chapter 332 showed some developments in Yami’s nonexistent love life. Turns out that he doesn’t even remember Charlotte’s confession. Both of them practically run away when faced with the truth. I’m just glad that Yami now knows Charlotte’s alleged allergic reaction to him is just her affectionate side.
Secre, on the other hand, is taking full advantage of Noel and Mimosa’s crush on Asta. Her love for gossip and entertainment puts her on the same level as Anya from ‘Spy x Family.’
Asta is oblivious to all this drama and has gone straight to propose to Sister Lily for the umpteenth time. Like any sane lady, she turns him down, and he vows to become the Wizard King soon.
Julius/Lucius/Astaroth then crashes the party. Seriously, it’ll be hard to keep a track of this guy, there are two people more than necessary in a single body. The villain enters with a dad joke, ready to whoop Asta right there.
Will Lucius start a battle in chapter 333, or is he just there to spook everyone and announce his plans? (as is typical of supervillains) The kingdom is finally starting to recover, and a year has given enough time for everyone to heal. Are they ready to fight another mega devil?
Moreover, Julius is still in that body. The guy is kindness personified, and saving him will be the biggest struggle.
Tabata-sensei has given us a shocking chapter that more than makes up for the hiatus. The finale has definitely started, and the next chapter will show Julius’ reasoning behind entering the wizards’ den.
