According to the manga, anyone who will try to rescue them will have to face severe punishment. But Asta and Nero never needed anyone to step up, they had a family all along.

Black Bulls, along with their captain Yami Sukehiro will barge into the Magic Parliament building and declare that they are going to take Asta and Nero with them.

4. Plot of Episode 121 – Three Problems

Episode 121, Three Problems, start with Yami and William meeting with young Julius. While Yami claims that Julius definitely died, Julius reveals that he was revived by an ancient magic item that he found on his “incognito wanderings.”

Note: This magic item, known as Swallowtail, is the same magic item Secre and Lemiel created.

Julius then tells William Vangeance that he will have to face the hatred of the people and must decide whether he is strong enough to face that or not. William bursts into tears and pledges his grimoire yet again, and rather truthfully this time.

The next scene shows Julius and Yami meeting up with Asta, Noelle, Mimosa, and Secre. Julius reveals that there are currently three problems with the kingdom:

Who will become the 29th Wizard King? Or will Julius regain his strength?

  • Wizard King is gone. Julius may have been resurrected, but is nowhere near his prime since he is a 13-year-old boy.
  • If this weakened state of the Clover Kingdom is prolonged, it will be destroyed by its neighboring countries.
  • The Magic Parliament will use Asta’s devil as a scapegoat and condemn Asta and Nero to death to save the repertoire of the Magic Knights.

Asta and Nero are then tricked into Magic Parliament’s headquarters, and it turns out to be a one-sided court where the Royals decide everything. Damnatio Kira, from one of the Three Great Houses, is the chairman and gives Asta a choice.

Asta can either take all the blame and die or let the Magic Knights and the people who attacked the Clover Kingdom under the influence take the fall.

If Asta chooses the later, it will start with the death of Marie Adlai, Gauche’s little sister. Asta chooses to save Marie by turning into his demon-Asta form.
