Vanica and Noelle’s final battle has been one of the most foreshadowed and anticipated scenes in Black Clover. With chapter 296, readers have finally been relieved of their curiosity.
The last panel of the manga showed Noelle stabbing right through Vanica, and the whole fandom has gone into a frenzy ever since then!
Is another Dark Triad member out of the picture? Will the Tree of Qliphoth become even weaker now? Too many questions have been left hanging, the primary of them being: Has Vanica been defeated?
The chapter started with Vanica fighting against Noelle, but soon it evolved into a flashback scene. We are given a detailed look at the conflict between Vanica and Acier (Noelle’s mother).
The way Noelle stabs Vanica in the last panel is similar to her mother’s valkyrie mode attack in the past. However, Vanica had run off in the past battle; will she do the same now?
When Vanica mentions Acier, Noelle’s anger peaks and she is fully prepared to avenge her family and Lolopechka. Noelle’s “Sea Dragon Roar” overpowers Vanica’s “Red Beast” move.
The very last panel also contains the words: “Their shared pasts finally put to an end.” Does this mean Vanica is defeated? Vanica does not have severe regeneration powers like Dante, but we are still unsure whether that was the killing blow.
Most likely, Vanica might still be up to strike one last time. Lolopechka has not been involved in the battle at all. Will Vanica’s wound free her, or will she be used to attack her own friends?
We can only hope that Vanica does not cast yet another curse. However, the most pressing issue here is Megicula. Since the Tree of Qliphoth is open, and devils are pouring out, Megicula might decide to leave Vanica’s body to fight on its own.
Vanica is bound to be seriously injured after the last strike, if not killed. Only the next chapter will be able to tell us whether Noelle has finally exacted her revenge or not.
