In Black Clover, Megicula has impacted many events and characters, from killing Noelle’s mother to even manipulating her host Vanica Zogratis to becoming a sacrificial goat. So it’s pretty easy to believe that she is probably the biggest devil calling shots in Hell.
Yet, up until now, there hadn’t been any proof that she was one of the big baddies, a.k.a the Supreme Devils. But Tabata sensei sensed our dilemma, and here’s a twisted and very, very confusing answer.
In the Black Clover Chapter 301: titled “Those Feelings,” Liebe revealed that Megicula, the devil contracted to Vanica Zogratis, is one of the supreme Devils of the Underworld.
Even if Supreme Devils are the final antagonist of the Black Clover, not much is known about them except that their magic controls gravity, time, and space, respectively. But the question arises if Megicula has only used Curse-Warding magic so far, how can she be part of the big three?
More interestingly, does that make her the fourth supreme devil?
If you didn’t know, Tabata revealed that there are three Supreme Devils supported by Lucifugus way back in chapter 286: A Night with No Morning. So far, the manga has only revealed one of the three, Lucifero, who controls gravity.
Suppose Megicula is genuinely one of the Supreme Devils. In that case, her complete manifestation might reveal her real powers, and sadly if this revelation by Liebe is true, I can’t hope for Team Noelle to make it out against the devil without a big sacrifice.
But again, Liebe might be wrong as he was the lowest of the low when it came to hierarchy, and spending most of the years stuck in a Grimoire is sure to have some effect on his memory, but that’s just wishful thinking.
Do you think that Megicula has more up her sleeve than she’s letting on? Or, is there something lost in translation? Don’t hold back to pitch in your theories in comments, or better hope on our Discord server!
