Kakegurui’s Homura Kawamoto Pens ‘Fourth Generation’ of Beyblade!

‘Beyblade’ has been a part of the childhoods of many millennials. The manga, the anime series, and the merchandise are still treasured by many of us. The franchise does have a coming-of-age vibe, showing the adventures of Tyson Granger, Gingka Hagane, Valt Aoi, and many more.

A new generation of ‘Beyblade’ will rise, introducing us to new characters, adventures, and abilities.

On Monday, the June issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Coro Coro magazine revealed a 70-page full-color preview booklet of ‘Beyblade X’. The manga is written by Homura Kawamoto and Hikaru Muno, with illustrations by Posuka Demizu. It will debut in the magazine’s July issue, arriving on June 15.

Kawamoto is known for his work ‘Kakegurui’, while his brother Muno is known for ‘High Card’. Demizu is known for her artwork in ‘The Promised Neverland’ manga.

Takara Tomy, the toy merchandise company for Beyblade, refers to the upcoming Beyblade manga as ‘the fourth generation’.

The story focuses on a young boy who aspires to be a pro-Beyblade player. He aims to get to the X Tower, where all the professional players gather. ‘Beyblade X’ will also introduce new gears and abilities to the franchise and readers.

‘Beyblade’ has come a long way from an action-adventure series to slowly inclining towards sports from ‘Beyblade Burst’. Beyblade X will most likely continue the trend, but I would like to see a more thrilling plot. It does not need to be supernatural but something like the first arc of ‘Beyblade V-Force’.
