The upcoming film Belle: The Princess of Dragons and Freckles takes the age-old tale of Beauty and the Beast to the next reality.

Directed by Academy-nominated Mamoru Hosada, Belle results from his previous work in virtual reality-themed anime “Summer Wars” and “Digimon.” From what we have seen so far, this production is unlike any other anime before it.

With a blend of both Japanese and Western art, music, and culture, Belle is here to take us on a journey like no other.

Through its international representative Paris-based company Charades, Studio Chizu released the much-awaited international trailer for the anime film Belle: The Princess of Dragons and Freckles.

Additionally, they also announced that Belle would have its theatrical release on 16th July 2021.

The trailer gives us a fast-paced glimpse into the virtual world of “U,” and its surreal landscape, inverted skyscrapers, and flying whales are sights straight out of a wild dream.

While we try to process the virtual world of “U,” we are hit by the banging theme song “U” by the Millennium parade sung by the protagonist Suzu/Belle. The trailer quickly introduces the second main character, known as “The Beast,” who wreaks havoc in the virtual world.

The short trailer quickly wraps up with Belle trying to reach out to the Beast.

Moreover, they also revealed that Japanese singer-songwriter Kaho Nakamura will voice the protagonist Suzu, better known as Belle.

Kaho Nakamura, along with voicing the main protagonist, also sings all the main tracks in the film. Her glittering, sometimes sad, and emotional singing voice is sure to take this anime to a new frontier.

However, the rest of the cast is still not revealed; I will keep you updated as soon as it becomes public.

With the creative mind of Mamoru Hosada helming the project and Studio Chizu’s prowess, the anime is set to take on a dream-like journey this summer.
