The beloved NBC comedy show The Office will land on Peacock early next year. Now it is also possible that fans of the series could take a break from binging the seasons over and over again, to witness a reunion of some sort!
Details have not been chalked out yet but the streaming service is looking for a big launch for The Office on its platform.
The 2005 mockumentary-style comedy series of The Office follows the lives of employees of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.
The series ran for nine seasons and the cast is studded with stars like Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B. J. Novak, Melora Hardin, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, Paul Lieberstein, Creed Bratton, Craig Robinson, and Ellie Kemper.
The long-running comedy was also based on a former UK series and ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013.
Speaking to Deadline, Bill McGoldrick, President of Original Content, NBC Universal Entertainment Networks and Direct-to-Consumer, said: “Lots of those ideas have been bandied about with people internally and with Greg Daniels and people associated with the show. As you can imagine, there are lots of creative ideas, we haven’t landed at any one right now.”
A series reboot or revival of The Office has been discussed in the past according to reports. However, a project like that wouldn’t be a part of the streaming service’s launch plans.
Most recently, members of the cast of The Office took part in a virtual reunion in an episode of Some Good News, Krasinski’s YouTube series.
During a recent instalment of John Krasinski’s YouTube show, Some Good News, the cast of The Office reunited to celebrate the wedding of Maryland couple John and Susan.
