Atsushi Ohkubo’s Fire Force manga has entered its final arc in the 46th issue of this year’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.

We already knew that this was coming as the author had previously revealed his intentions to end the story last year. Still, it is surreal to see the beginning of the end. According to popular speculation, the final arc will probably end in early 2022.

Ohkubo has always gone out of his way to make sure that manga stays on schedule. During its serialization run, Fire Force has barely missed a week aside from Golden Week breaks. From the looks of it, he is ending the story on his terms, so it will be a good, non-rushed ending.

Although Ohkubo has stated that Fire Force will be his last manga, he is still young from a mangaka standpoint and might end up coming back.
