‘As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World’ tells the story of a child belonging to the noble class with memories of his past life as a salaryman in Japan. He enjoys his life of luxury until he learns of the political unrest in the Somerforth Empire.
Born with a unique Appraisal skill, he can see the current and hidden potential of people – even their ability to betray. But given his lack of experience in war and strategy, will ‘Appraisal’ be enough to protect his land?
On Tuesday, the official Twitter account for the ‘As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World’ light novel series announced an anime adaptation. It is scheduled for 2024. An official website was also launched, revealing the first trailer, key visual, and the main cast and staff.
In the video, the protagonist Ars Louvent is seen looking for allies in the most unexpected people. The other three characters – Ritsu Muses, Charlotte Wraith, and Rosell Kischa, are commoners who have been ostracized in some way.
jimmy (illustrator for the light novels) and Natsumi Inoue (artist for the manga adaptation) also shared commemorative illustrations to celebrate the announcement.

Ars’s ability is neither offensive nor defensive, but bringing absolutely talented people together to protect his land makes it his best skill as a leader and a lord. The designs and animation look fantastic in the trailer. Overall, it does have the appeal to give it a try.

‘As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World’ (also known as KanteiSkill for short) is a light novel series by Miraijin A. Initially launched in 2019 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, Kodansha is publishing it since July 2020.
A salaryman gets reincarnated as Ars Louvent, heir to a noble family. Although he has no special magic or swordsman ability, he can use his appraisal skill to discover strength, hidden potential, and talent in others.
This talent becomes helpful in an unstable kingdom where the government is corrupt and revolts happen. As other nobles prepare for an all-out war, Ars realizes that he must prepare for it himself by recruiting talented people.
