Argonavis won many hearts with its music back in 2020, and now it’s time for Gyroaxia to take the stage. While the band didn’t get much screen time during the From Argonavis anime series, the movie will be all about them.
It’s common for fans to fall harder for supporting characters than the protagonists, and that’s precisely what happened with the band Gyroaxia. Although the anime series was focused on the band Argonavis, Gyroaxia found their way into everyone’s hearts with just a few glimpses.
However, we might have to wait longer as Argonavis The Movie: Axia has been delayed. Instead of the November release, the film has now been rescheduled to come out on March 24, 2023.
The franchise has revealed an intense trailer to announce the postponed date officially. So, even though the delay stings a bit, we can’t be completely sad as the trailer will keep us busy for a while.
It shows Gyroaxia reacting to their disbanding rumors, which might even come true, given how none of the members cooperate. The band has a history of disharmony among themselves that started reflecting on their performances, leading to their news about separating.
The trailer also teases Nayuta Asahi’s father, Koga Iryu. Nayuta and his mother were disowned and abandoned by his father when he was a child. His father’s reason for leaving was Nayuta being a musical failure, which wouldn’t be good for his reputation as Koga is a legendary musician.
Nayuta grew to resent his father for his actions and swore revenge on him by forming Gyroaxia and making it the best band ever.
The movie will revolve around Gyroaxia coming to terms with their issues and trying to find common ground. All of them want the band to be successful and would do anything for it, so I’m expecting a painful arc filled with sacrifices and unraveling trauma.
Also, this doesn’t mean we won’t get to see Argonavis because I’m guessing they’ll be helping Gyroaxia through this tough time.
Argonavis The Movie: Axia is an upcoming movie by Bushiroad’s From Argonavis franchsie. It will be directed by Shigeru Morikawa.
The film follows the band Gyroaxia as rumors of their seperation go viral. Amid the chaos, the band’s vocalist Nayuta Asahi reminisces about his father, Koga Iryu, abandoning him and his mother. Nayuta wants to get back at Koga by making Gyroaxia the best band there is.
