Hanazakari no Kimitachi e is one of the most beautiful and soulful romance manga, which popularized the entire cross-dressing genre.

The author of this sweet romance, Hisaya Nakajo, became a household name following the success of this series. Unfortunately, she passed away recently, and here’s everything you need to know about this devastating situation.

Manga creator Hisaya Nakajo, known for works such as “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e,” passed away at 8:52 pm on October 12th at 50 due to her heart condition.

Nakajo’s funeral was already held with family in attendance.

Hakusensha expressed their utmost respect and gratitude to Nakajo for her artistic contributions and sincerely expressed their deepest condolences for her passing.

This beloved manga author was born on September 12, 1973, in Osaka Prefecture. She earned an honorable mention for a one-shot in that year’s Hakusensha Athena Newcomers’ Awards in 1993.

She is mainly known for her school romantic comedy “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e” which sold over 17 million copies worldwide. This series inspired a live-action series in South Korea and Taiwan as well.

Sugar Princess: Skating To Win was Nakajo’s subsequent significant work, which received immense praise for its lighthearted feel. This series ran for 2 years before it ended in 2007.

She has numerous other works, including “Missing Piece,” “Yumeruha,” and “Momo Motachi!”. Her last work was in 2020, titled “Secret – After School for You in Full Bloom”.
