Yuenchi: Baki Gaiden Light Novel to End in Shonen Champion’s Next Issue

The light novel is darker than the rest of the franchise but has gained immense popularity within the fandom regardless. The story follows Mumon as he searches for his mentor’s killer in a dark and dangerous place called ‘Amusement Park.’

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and that includes this epic light novel series as well.

In its latest issue, Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion announced that Yuenchi: Baki Gaiden will conclude in the magazine’s upcoming issue 48 on October 28, 2021.

Akita Shoten will also publish the series’ fourth volume on November 8, 2021.

The light novel has a captivating plotline that makes you anxious at every move. Not only that, the characters are carefully written with distinct and peculiar personalities, so there is no way you can ever get bored of this one.

It is set in an awfully dystopian world called the ‘Amusement Park’ where money is everything, and human lives are cheap. Mumon follows the trails left by his master’s killer only to find there’s more to this murder case than he thought.

Each chapter of the series is a new spoiler, making it even more difficult to discuss it with others or protect yourself from them. But that’s what makes it fun, and the thrill gives this story its unique charm.

Moreover, the light novel’s illustrator, Yuria Fujita, will adapt the series in a manga. I am honestly thrilled to see all the incredible fight sequences and confrontations in manga form.

I am looking forward to how Baku Yumemakura ends this particular story which has hooked its readers for such a long time. The conclusion needs to be well written, or else the entire build-up would be for nothing.

Considering Baku’s works in general, I’m sure we’re going to get an ending we could have never imagined.
