Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens Reboot Anime Release Date & Trailer Announced

Last year in July, at Jump Festa ’20 event, the franchise announced that it will bring a new anime series to continue the legacy of duelling gamblers in 2020.

It had been a while since fans were introduced to a new generation of duelers. Fans fell in love with this returning classic anime when it released in Japan a few days back.

The opening is very upbeat and lighthearted and as teased before, the history of Yi-Gi-Oh is definitely changing with the new Rush Duel mode. Altogether, fans are digging the feel of the returning anime.

The New Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens Official Trailer!

The new anime will offer an elementary school protagonist for the first time in history. Yūga Ōdō, a fifth-grade student will be the lead with the whole plot set up in the future town of Gōha.

The new anime will offer a new “Rush Duel” rule as well. For those who don’t know what Rush Duel is, here are three key points to sum it up:

  • New designs of cards which are visually attractive and easy to read have been introduced.
  • You can summon as many monsters as you want each turn.
  • Each turn, you draw until your hand becomes 5.

Even after all these years and improvements in the animation standards, the anime decided to stick to its occult fiction style, offering very elaborate designs. Moreover as expected, the new anime will focus on character storylines more and will not try to deviate from the actual setting much.
