Yellowstone is returning this fall, and fans will finally get to know what happened to the characters’ fates that were left on cliff-hangers during Season 3’s finale. Paramount has released a teaser and announced that Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama will return on November 7.
Season 4 is set to launch on Paramount Network with a two-episode premiere that will also launch two MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios series, Mayor of Kingstown and the Yellowstone prequel 1883, exclusively on Paramount+.
The new season will introduce new cast members, including Jacki Weaver and Piper Perabo. However, not much is known about what the story holds for Season 4, and the teaser provided no additional information either.
We see John Dutton getting shot as a voiceover gravely comments, “We’re at war, you and me.” Will Patton, who plays Garrett Randall on the show, was upped to series regular, so that could definitely be his voice.
The video description reads, ‘Revenge is worth the wait.’ So, rest assured, not all of the Dutton family will be wiped out in a single episode.
According to Deadline, The prequel series to Yellowstone, 1883, is set for premiere on December 19 on Paramount+. It follows the Dutton family as they settle in Montana. Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown will premiere November 14 on Paramount+ and follow the McLusky family.
In an attempt to bring the audience to Paramount+, Paramount Network will air a special simulcast of both of the new series following the airing of Yellowstone on the shows’ set premiere date. Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, MTV Entertainment, said,
Our strategy is to make Yellowstone, the massive No. 1 hit with more than 10 million fans, into a global hit franchise under the incredible creative vision of Taylor Sheridan’s world-building storytelling.
These new series will debut on Paramount+ and have special premiere day sneak episodes behind Yellowstone, introducing this huge audience to these new stories, allowing us to leverage our linear platforms to fuel the growth of Paramount+, which will stream each series exclusively after episode two.Chris McCarthy
101 Studios CEO Glasser added that ‘Taylor Sheridan universe has grown and expanded beyond our greatest expectations.’
ViacomCBS Streaming Chief Programming Officer Tanya Giles also stated that these new series will be the ‘perfect examples of the types of prestige dramas’ Paramount+ is focusing on bringing to the streaming service.
